On the Third Week of Advent We Light the Pink Candle

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all people. Luke 2:10

Angels bringing the joyful news of Jesus! These angels were handmade and painted by artisans in Oaxaca, Mexico!

Why is the third candle of Advent pink? Most people say that during the third week of advent we are to be joyful and rejoice in the coming of the Christ child. I love that! I rejoice every single day that God sent his son just for us, not because we deserve it, but because he loves us! The greatest gift ever given!!!

I love Natalie Chang and her inspirational paper goods! Natalie always makes me smile and pause as I go through each day. Who would have thought that a you could witness to the world through a paper napkin or coffee cup? Natalie Chang did and God has blessed us with her wisdom!

This third Sunday of Advent is also known as Gaudete Sunday. We use the pink (rose colored) candle because we are rejoicing. Gaudete in Domino Semper; iterum dico, gaudete. Meaning Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say rejoice. Some believe that the pink candle symbolizes joy.

Rejoice! Rejoice! And again I say Rejoice!!!

Have a joyful third week of Advent rejoicing in your preparations for Christmas! What can you do that will bring Joy to the world this week? I think I’ll wear pink and use lots of Natalie Chang’s products filled with joyful messages!
