Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth, peace and goodwill to all men. Luke 2:14

The fourth week of advent is all about peace. This year has definitely not been peaceful for most of us, but God sent his son to earth to forgive out sins if we just believe in him. Knowing that your sins are forgiven should bring peace to our hearts, but sometimes we still worry and are afraid. We need to turn to the scriptures to help us find the peace and reassurance we are looking for.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27

Sometimes when I start feeling the weight of the world on my shoulders, I sing hymns. I love to sing from our hymnal, the old words and melodies that have been around for so many generations bring a peaceful calm that can turn a dark day around! When my children were little and had trouble falling asleep, I would sing these wonderful hymns to them. If they can calm a tiny baby, they can calm us too. Find peace in your life in the days leading up to Christmas. I’m sure God picked Mary and Joseph for this very important job because they were filled with peace and not anxiety. May peace be with you all!
