Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23

My son has made a special request for Christmas morning! He loves the sausage casserole, but he’s really hungry for “Monkey Bread!” Monkey Bread is a super easy, super fun breakfast treat that absolutely does not fit on my diet…I guess I’ll worry about that after Christmas.

My Monkey Bread recipe comes straight from the Pillsbury website! It is so easy and so fun. Of course what else would you expect from the Pillsbury Dough Boy??!!
Pillsbury MonkeyBread: 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 1 teaspoon cinnamon. 2 cans refrigerated “Pillsbury Grands Flaky Layers” biscuits (8 count). 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar. 3/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Generously grease a 12 cup Bundt pan with shortening or cooking spray. In large 1-gallon ziploc bag mix sugar and cinnamon.
2. Separate dough into 16 biscuits; cut each biscuit into quarters, I use meat scissors that can be put into the dishwasher. Shake each piece in your ziploc bag until it is covered in the cinnamon/sugar mixture. Arrange the pieces in the Bundt pan and sprinkle the remaining cinnamon and sugar over the biscuits.
3. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and butter. Pour over the biscuits.
4. Bake 30-40 minutes or until golden brown and no longer doughy in center. Cool for 5 minutes and turn the pan upside down on your serving platter. Replacing any biscuit pieces and carmel from the pan. Pull apart to serve. We love to eat Monkey Bread warm!

If you want to make a smaller version of the recipe, it’s super easy. Just cut the recipe in half and bake it in a small Bundt pan. I have done it several times and it tastes just as wonderful!

Have a wonderful Christmas morning, full of lots of yummy food shared with the ones you love!
