Let all the you do be done in love. 1 Corinthians 16:14
Today I am spending the day filling out Valentine’s cards for my friends and family. I love sending beautiful cards in the mail, it is something I don’t do often enough! This year one of my favorite Instagram accounts, @missjanice_14, mentioned that she wanted to host a Valentine’s Card Exchange and I signed up in a flash! Imagine sharing Valentines with someone you have never met, but have so much in common with? It sounded like fun and got me into a Valentine’s mood, a mood that I haven’t been in since my children were little. It was so much fun filling out cards for their classmates and finding the perfect treat to attach to them. Surprising a friend with a Valentine’s card in the mail seems like the perfect treat!

I love giving little “happys” to my friends and neighbors. Attaching a little card to a pie from your local bakery makes the perfect gift of love. It’s a surprise and brings a smile to the face of a friend, That’s love! Unexpected gifts can make people so happy! Surprise you children with a little gift too! I love to get my kids baked goods from the Tomball Farmer’s Market! This week I got them hot chocolate bombs from @migaloochocolatier and cookies from @flourhousebakers! Both are melt in your mouth good!

I love to get letters from friends and family! You can read them again and again, and keep them forever! I however don’t write the longest letters, it’s an art that I am working on. I think I need a pen pal!!! I prefer to write on notecards that can easily be filled. These notecards from @BusyBeeGift remind me of Liberty of London fabrics. The soft pink flowers and envelopes make me feel like I am living in a different era, one that is so much calmer and more peaceful…where it is spring all year long! Who wouldn’t want to get a note on these beautiful cards???

My Valentine’s this year will be getting cards I found on Etsy! WallridgeFarm from Franklin, Tennessee handmakes the loveliest Valentines and other cards. And Madara is the sweetest! She thanked me for sending her positive feedback! How often does someone send you a thank you for feedback? Not often, and I really appreciated it! I will definitely be back for more pretty cards from her store!

Don’t forget to sign you cards with the prettiest of colors!!! Make your cards extra special with colored ink! I love pink and red for Valentine’s cards. I prefer a fine point, which I can get from Bic Intensity pens. I chose Rambunctious Red and Fandango Pink for this year’s cards. If you prefer a wider stroke, I recommend a hot pink Sharpie from All She Wrote Notes! I’m not sure if this is a custom color, but it is a good strong hot pink and I Love It!!!
Don’t forget to get your Valentine’s to the post office early. The mail is moving very slowly this year. Don’t forget to leave a little “happy” for your mail carrier, and anyone else that has done a great job this year. Everyone needs a “happy”!!!
(PS: The china plate in the picture was painted by my grandmother for my mother when she graduated from Baylor. Isn’t it pretty? I think I need to take up child painting! It sounds so elegant. )
Stay tuned to tomorrow’s post! It’s all about kittens!!!
