Blessed is the nation whose God is Lord. Psalm 33:12

Okay…I know it’s already July 4th and I should have posted this earlier, but I just love celebrating our nation all year long! I looked in my archive and I have started to write a July 4th post for the last two years and never posted it. It is one of my family’s favorite holidays and we go all out to celebrate! So forgive me for my late post, but one good thing about talking about a holiday after the holiday is you can find decorations marked down all over town!!!

Patriotic sweets are my family’s favorite. This year I went all out and found the most wonderful red, white, and blue macarons at J Bakery Sudio. She has a booth at the Tomball Farmer’s Market and her macarons and so yummy!

I also made Pop Rock Cupcakes! They are very simple vanilla cupcakes with a little hole cut into the top and filled with Pop Rocks! I poured about a 1/4 of a package of Pop Rocks into each cupcake. Then I iced over the top. Add a few holiday picks and you have a treat that will set fireworks off in your mouth! I usually sprinkle the Pop Rocks on top of the icing and that makes for a wonderful treat too. If you use the moist cake mix to make your cupcakes, you have to be careful that the Pop Rocks don’t turn into a hard ball. I made that mistake!

My daughter brought Oreo Cake balls to out celebration! He cake balls are the best! She mixes crushed Double Stuff Oreos with cream cheese and dunks that in white chocolate then adds sprinkles. I could eat them all day!

On the healthy side, I make fruit shish-kabobs every year. You have to put them on a patriotic pick! They have tons of options on Amazon. I got all of my picks from Amazon. I never use all of them in a year, so I pack the extras away for next year!

Nora Fleming makes the cutest July 4 attachments. I love Uncle Sam standing guard over our red, white, and blue straws! I also have a Nora Fleming flag waving over the adorable red, white, and blue macarons! You can find Nora Fleming at most Hallmarks stores and a lot of cute gift shops.

Fusion Pop makes cute trays and attachments that make their trays work for all of your holiday needs. I found my Fusion Pop tray at a bakery in Waco, Texas. I have attachments for July 4, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and even an adorable fish I use for Shark Week!

I made this cute wreath and decorated it with Christmas ornaments of our founding father’s and some other important people. I love that I can use it for Christmas and the Fourth of July. Do you see the little Toby mugs under the wreath? They are all enjoying a pint….do you think that’s why they lost the war? I think they’re so much fun!

I was lucky enough to find these fabulous plates at Sur la Table several years ago. I use them every single day from June 15 through July 4. They still look brand new. Such a great buy!

I absolutely love cute napkins! And you can always find the cutest Fourth of July napkins if you know where to look. I get mine from Suburban Soirée every year! She has an Etsy shop and a subscription box. I have never been disappointed in her adorable napkins!

Beautiful dish cloths make celebrating so much more fun! These adorable dish cloths came from LB Originals. She has a shop of Etsy, The Preppy Paper Girl, and a fabulous Instagram account where she shows so many of her beautiful tablescapes!

We feasted on hot dogs with homemade buns from Flour Haus Bakers, another fabulous merchant at the Tomball Framers Market. Then we went swimming until we were absolutely waterlogged. At the end of our celebration, my daughter presented her latest masterpiece, The Star Spangled Banner. She watercolored stars around the edge of the paper and did a beautiful job of calligraphy in navy ink. We are all so grateful for the chance to live in a free country. “One nation, under God!”

I hope you all had a wonderful Fourth of July!
