For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10

In January I saw an Instagram post that would define the year! Caitlin Wilson declared 2024 to be the Year of the Bow! Boy was she right! Caitlin has an interior design business, is an author, and a fellow Texan! I purchased her book in 2023, It’s called Return to Pretty, and I love it! You couldn’t have hit upon a more wonderful topic. In a day when things can depressing, it was a breath of fresh air to return to pretty! Caitlin loves a lot of the same things I do. She loves Wedgewood, soft colors, and bows!

Here is Caitlin’s book, Return to Pretty! It is lovely, just look at the cover!!!

One of my favorite Instagram creators is Alex Glockner. I found her one day sewing pretty ribbons onto sweatshirts in the shape of a bow! Alex took her sweatshirt business to New York and held several pop up shops at my favorite store, Love Shack Fancy! Alex got married in a gorgeous pink and green wedding in December. Alex and her mother thought of every detail! There were bows and beautiful ribbons on everything. Look at this chandelier! It is amazing! I think they should be wedding planners. All of the details were in pink and green, which worked perfectly with the aesthetics of The Greenbrier. That’s great because that is where the wedding was held. Even Santa showed up in a pink suit!

This year I fell in love with a brand/store that is all about beauty and femininity. Their website and social media is full of pinks, blues, and purples. They even did a collaboration with Stanley for gorgeous bow topped tumblers…I may have a few! I also indulged in their beautiful blue and pink blankets adorned with bows! They make sweaters that have the most festive satin bows dancing across them. I can’t wait to see what beautiful things they will release for the spring! Who else will they collaborate with? Maybe another Stanley release! I know I would love another beautiful tumbler.

I have always loved to needlepoint. Recently needlepoint has gotten to be a big deal and new stitchers are being born every day! With all of the new stitchers comes a big demand for beautiful products. This year was full of new vendors and full of needlepoint bows! Last January, I found this gorgeous Morgan Julia project bag with the giant pink bow embroidered on it. It is a large bag that will hold a lot, but not too big to fit in a tote bag to take with you when you travel or have to sit around and wait for things. The adorable bow canvas is from Penny Linn Designs. When you get your canvas kitted with Penny Lynn, she ties your thread up with a beautiful ribbon in you guessed it, a bow! My beautiful scissor case is from Lycette Designs in Palm Beach! I absolutely love it and plan on making another one soon…but the bow on top is what drew me to this canvas!

I think my favorite bow inspired event this year was a fun little tea party in our backyard. We have a lovely pool and it is the perfect place to host a small party. My daughter and I had a wonderful time eating cute cookies and talking about what our next bow related event will be in 2025! Suburan Soirée made the cutest bow napkins that were perfect for this event!

Happy New Year Everyone! I hope 2025 is full of blessing and beauty! What do you think will be the new style this year? Will it be more bows or something else entirely? I don’t know, but I hope it is beautiful!
