This is my favorite Halloween decoration!!! I love to needlepoint, I think it is so relaxing and recently there have been so many new creative designs, I can’t stop stitching! The small figures on the tree are called Stitch It Angels. I purchased mine from Howdy Honey in Houston and KC Needlepoint online. I stitched them in glow in the dark fibers! That makes it super fun at night!!! There are some Halloween cookies in the mix, they came from A Pinch of Grace a cute little store on Etsy. The haunted house came from My Pink Sugar Life on Etsy, I have 2 more houses to stitch for next year! I haven’t ever finished any needlepoint ornaments myself, but I can recommend WasteKnot.WantKnot.finishing, she’s on Instagram; and NeedlepointFinisher, she’s also on Instagram. They both did a wonderful job turning my canvases into these precious ornaments! This adorable tree will come out for years to come. I can’t wait to add more ornaments next year!!!
When my children were little, the kids in the neighborhood loved to Boo each other! You had to be sneaky and drop off your Boo surprise, ring the doorbell and run away before you were caught! The kids would go to school the next day and wonder who had left the Halloween surprise at their door! This was before Ring doorbells… They had so much fun that my kids still Boo each other! That’s why this is such a large haul! Usually you just leave a bag of candy and maybe some other little goodie. This is one of their favorite traditions to this day! You should see my youngest trying to avoid the Ring doorbell! It’s a hoot!
Their other favorite tradition is practice trick or treating! It’s something I made up, and now I do it with our grandson. When they were little, I tried to teach them to say thank you after each candy that they received trick or treating. One of the lessons was that they had to trick or treat at our house to practice saying thank you! It was so much fun! They usually did 3 rounds of practice trick or treating. The first round they got candy, the second round they got some glow sticks to use that night when they went out, and the third round they got a little toy. They only received their prizes if they said “Thank You!” In a loud clear voice. I think that my grown up son would still practice trick or treat! It was so much fun!
Decorating for grown ups is not as much fun as decorating for children. This Halloween I added some Labubu’s to my decor. My grandson is the cutest little monster in the house and he thinks that the Labubus are very interesting, he’s still too little to play with them, but they make cute additions to the pumpkin patch!
I have collected little pug floats from Pug Hall Vintage for several years. They are absolutely adorable parading across the mantle or my favorite chest of drawers. This year I decided to have them parade around the dining room table, out of the reach of little fingers. I think that they really like their new platform! It’s almost like a Maypole in October! To end this fabulous Halloween season, I wanted to tell you about one of my favorite pieces. This isn’t my charm bracelet, it is one from an ad for James Avery. My girls always get at least one in their stocking! I highly recommend James Avery charms, I’ve had some on my bracelets for many years and they still look beautiful. The sweet jingle that they make is perfect!
