Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 1 Corinthians 13:4

This summer has been long and hot and I really needed a new movie to watch! I had watched Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Sense and Sensibility, and The Importance of Being Earnest several times. There had to be something new to watch! Then, out of no where, I started getting advertisements for a new movie, Seeking Persephone.
The story was hailed as something along the lines of Beauty and the Beast, but it was so much better!!! A very unhappy duke marries the very poor daughter of a professor to keep his distant cousin from inheriting his estate. (I already loved the storyline!) The very poor bride was beautiful and knew her Greek mythology, evidently it is her father’s favorite thing to study. Her name came from the Greek story of Hades and Persephone. (Read it before you watch the movie!) Persephone comes from a very large family. She has been in charge of he father and the children since her mother’s death and she loves them dearly. The duke likes to be left alone.
The scenery is so beautiful, the casting is perfection, the storyline is wonderful! It is the movie that I had been missing from my summer fun and I’m so glad that I found it! Seeking Persephone is broken down into four parts, with pauses that make me wonder if it was intended to be release on television with commercial breaks. This is why I think of it as a miniseries, rather than a movie.

There are six books in the Lancaster series and I have read them all! I absolutely love that each child has a very unique personality and they have their own book to tell their story. Sarah M. Eden is an excellent author and storyteller! She has happily resolved all of the conflict in each character’s life! There is even a Christmas book to resolve Adam’s mother’s conflict and put a perfect seal on these stories. I absolutely love a good Christmas story!
Since the movie came out this summer, the books in the Lancaster series have been sold out! Don’t worry, they are busy restocking the shelves as we speak. I purchased them all for my Kindle. I love that I can read them immediately and add the next book in the series without having to go to a bookstore. I like to read late into the night, so I have been able to purchase the next book at home, when all of the bookstores are closed. I do love these books, so I will probably buy hardback copies of them all, when they become available.

Which character is your favorite? All of them! Which is your favorite book? Once again, all of them!!! If you want to do a bookclub based on these novels, Etsy has several options. I love that the world has welcomed a new wholesome series for us to enjoy. I hope you have time to enjoy our Marvelous Movie Monday choice tonight. Don’t fret, I heard that two more movies are coming out soon in this wonderful series…I just need to find the patience to wait for them to be released!
